Hi, I’m Bobby Berk
I’m a home design expert, an interior designer, and a business owner. Many of you know me from TV, where I help families turn plain rooms into warm, useful spaces.
I believe good design belongs to everyone, not only the wealthy.
I didn’t start out in a fancy design studio. I grew up in a small town, worked in shops, and learned my craft one step at a time.
My story taught me that talent, hard work, and caring about people can matter more than a degree.
This website is where I share my home decor ideas in that same spirit. I turn my style into simple tips that anyone can try at home, even on a small budget.
How I Got Started
I was born in Houston, Texas, and spent much of my childhood in Missouri. As a teen, I felt different from the people around me, and I left home early to build my own life.
I moved to Denver and later to New York City, where I worked in home stores and learned how rooms come together.
In New York, I worked in retail for big home brands and watched how shoppers chose sofas, lamps, and art.
Those years on the shop floor taught me to listen to what people really need from a room.
Later, I opened my own firm, Bobby Berk Interiors + Design. It started with just a few clients, but word spread fast.
People loved the clean lines, soft colors, and smart use of space. The rooms looked stylish and still felt like home.
My Design Style
My style is modern but never cold. I mix simple shapes with warm wood, soft fabrics, and a touch of nature.
I avoid clutter and prefer a few strong pieces over a corner full of stuff.
Light is at the center of my work. I open up curtains, add mirrors, and choose lamps with a warm glow instead of a harsh one.
I believe a room should lift your mood the moment you step inside. My colors stay calm, with whites, creams, greys, and earthy tones, plus one bold accent to keep things fresh.
Comfort matters as much as looks. A chair should be easy to sit in, a shelf should hold real books, and a kitchen should work for daily cooking, not only for photos.
Rooms are made to be lived in, not just looked at.
TV and Beyond
Many people first met me through Queer Eye, where I led the design side of each makeover. I listened to people’s stories and reshaped their spaces with warmth and respect.
I never judge. I help.
Outside of TV, I have written books on home design and launched furniture, wallpaper, and decor lines that bring my style to stores at fair prices.
I speak at events about design, kindness, and being true to yourself. I also support groups that help young people facing hardship, a cause close to my own story.
Fame has not changed my message: good design is not about money.
It is about care, comfort, and pride in your space.
